I don’t think it’s a good idea to post your Twitter stream to your Facebook page automatically. It confuses people who don’t tweet and a lot of the time it just doesn’t make sense to see your tweets out of contest. “Thanks for that Joe!” is confusing if not annoying unless someone is sufficiently interested to go look and see what you’re talking about.

That said, there are times when it comes in handy to send a single tweet to your Facebook profile or Facebook page. And of course, there’s an app for that!

It’s called Selective Tweets. Clicking the link takes you to the application page on Facebook where you can like the application and then add it to your fan page. Then click “Go to application” and you’ll see a box to enter the Twitter username you want to connect to. You’ll be asked to authorize through Twitter and that’s it!

Now you can send a message to Facebook and Twitter by simple adding #fb to the tweet.

Facebook post

*One caveat. If you are already sending your Facebook posts to Twitter this could cause an endless loop of re-posts. Do a test tweet immediately to see if it’s working and then watch to see if it gets re-posted.
